It has been proposed that Acoustic Wave/Shockwave Therapy mobilizes your own stem cells to the area of treatment to enhance and promote healing.  Stem cells are found in all of us and play a key role in the body’s healing process. They lie latent in your body until they receive signals that the body has suffered an injury and then they follow your platelets to the injured site. Stem cells are able to transform into the same type of cell that was injured to promote the healing of injured tissues. After an injury, or as a natural result of aging, the number of stem cells needed in certain areas of the body declines. Stem cells are normally present in all parts of our body however, it has been proposed that as we age our stem cells age as well and become less effective and decreased in quantity.

Allograft and Autologous Tissue Transplants can be combined with other nonsurgical methods like Acoustic Wave/Shockwave Therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to achieve the best possible regenerative solutions.

Bone Marrow Aspiration

• Bone marrow contains mesenchymal stem cells along with cytokines, growth factors, and other proteins 
• Ultrasound guidance is used to aspirate bone marrow from the back of the hip in a minimally invasive procedure done in the office with local anesthesia
• The concentrated bone marrow aspirate is often mixed with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to add growth factors and other proteins

Microvascular Tissue Allografts

• Least invasive -no procedure is required to obtain
• Have the advantage of being quality controlled
• Not birth or “embryonic” tissue
• Contains known factors that support vascularization of tissue
• Microvascular tissue is often mixed with platelet rich plasma (PRP) to add growth factors and other proteins

Apex Advanced Medicine in Walnut Creek serves patients near and far in our San Francisco Bay Area concierge medical clinic.  Our regenerative solutions consist of non-surgical solutions applied directly to the affected area. Our varied procedures usually take no more than 30 minutes, allow you to walk out of our clinic and drive yourself home, with noticeable results in as few as 24-48 hours. In addition to the services we provide in our Walnut Creek medical clinic, we perform spinal procedures at local partner surgery centers which may involve anesthesia.
